How It Works

How to Change a Voice in 3 Steps

1

Drop a recording

Drag any MP3, WAV, M4A or OGG onto the left pane — or make one with our Voice Recorder first. The waveform and a player appear.

2

Pick an effect

Open Settings and choose a preset. Pitch adds extra semitones on top of the preset (or is the whole effect in Custom mode) and never changes the length of the clip.

3

Apply and download

Click Apply effect. The result plays on the right; try another preset and run again until it sounds right.

FAQ

Voice Changer — Frequently Asked Questions

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is decoded by your browser's Web Audio engine, processed on your device and encoded to MP3 or WAV with an open-source encoder running in the page. Nothing is sent to a server.

How does pitch shifting work without changing speed?

The audio is time-stretched with a granular algorithm and then resampled, so the length stays the same while the pitch moves by the chosen semitones. Extreme shifts (beyond ±7) can add a slight flutter, which is part of the fun.

Can I use this live on a call?

No — this tool processes files. Record first (our Voice Recorder works), transform, then share the file.

Which formats can I open and save?

Open anything your browser plays: MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG, Opus, FLAC and WebM audio. Save as MP3 (128, 192 or 320 kbps) or lossless 16-bit WAV. Pick the format under Settings before you run the tool.

How long does it take?

Processing is near-instant; MP3 encoding runs at roughly 15× real time, so a 5-minute song takes around 20 seconds. The progress bar shows the encode.
