Image Cropper — Frequently Asked Questions
Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No. The image is decoded and processed on a canvas in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is kept after you close the page.
Is the crop done at full resolution?
Yes. The box is drawn on a scaled preview but the crop is taken from the original pixels, so a 4000 px photo stays sharp.
How do I make a perfect square or Instagram crop?
Open Settings and pick Square 1:1 or Instagram 4:5. The box keeps that shape while you drag and resize.
Can I rotate or mirror as well?
Yes — rotation and flip are applied after cropping, so the box always matches what you see on the left.
Does it keep transparency?
PNG and WebP keep transparent areas. JPG has no transparency, so they are filled with white.
