How to Split a PDF in 3 Steps
Drop a PDF
Every page appears as a thumbnail with its number, so you can see what you are picking.
Pick Pages or a Split Rule
Type ranges like 1-3, 7 or just click thumbnails to select them. Or switch the mode to split every page, or every N pages, into separate files.
Split & Download
Extract mode gives you one PDF with the chosen pages in order. The split modes give a ZIP with numbered files.
PDF Splitter — Frequently Asked Questions
How do I write page ranges?
Comma-separated numbers and ranges: 1-3, 7, 10-12. Order does not matter — pages come out in document order. Clicking a thumbnail adds or removes that page from the box.
Can I reorder pages while extracting?
Extract keeps document order. To reorder, use Organise PDF, which lets you drag pages and delete the ones you do not need.
Why a ZIP for the split modes?
Browsers only allow one download per click, and splitting a 60-page file into 60 downloads would be miserable. The ZIP is built in your browser too.
Do the extracted pages keep their links and form fields?
Yes — pages are copied intact, including annotations and form fields on them. Document bookmarks are not carried over.
The tool says my PDF is encrypted — what now?
Password-protected PDFs must be opened with their password before they can be edited. Use the Unlock PDF tool first, then come back.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The document is parsed and rewritten by pdf-lib and rendered by PDF.js (the engine Firefox uses) entirely inside your browser. Nothing is transmitted or stored.
