How to Play Snake in 3 Steps
Start moving
Press any arrow key (or W A S D), swipe on the board, or tap Play. The snake moves on its own — you only choose the direction.
Eat to grow
Each piece of food adds one segment and one point. On Fast the snake also speeds up a little every few bites.
Avoid your tail
The game ends when the head hits the snake's own body — or a wall, unless you switch walls to Wrap in the options. Your best length is kept on this device.

Snake — Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I reverse direction?
Turning 180° would make the head run straight into the neck, so an input that reverses the current direction is ignored. Turn twice (for example up, then left) instead — queued inputs are honoured in order.
What is Wrap mode?
With walls set to Wrap, leaving the board on one side brings you back in on the opposite side, like the original Nokia variant. Only your own tail can end the game.
Does the snake get faster?
The three toolbar speeds set the base pace. On Fast the snake also accelerates slightly as it grows, up to a cap, so long games stay tense.
Where is my best score saved?
Only in your browser's localStorage under the key toolity_snake, separately per speed and board size. Nothing is sent anywhere; Reset or clearing site data removes it.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Swipe anywhere on the board to steer; a tap pauses and resumes. The board scales to the screen and the game auto-pauses when you switch apps.
