How It Works

How to Embed a Weather Widget in 3 Steps

1

Find the place

Type a city and pick it from the list, press Use my location, or enter coordinates. The name you see is editable.

2

Choose what to show

Units, number of forecast days, wind and humidity. Colours, font and theme come from the colours panel.

3

Embed

Copy the URL into Notion with /embed. The visitor’s browser fetches the forecast from Open-Meteo and refreshes it every 15 minutes.

FAQ

Weather Widget — Frequently Asked Questions

How do I embed this widget in Notion?

Click Copy in the toolbar to copy the embed URL, open your Notion page, type /embed, paste the link and press Enter. Drag the block handles to fit your column.

Where does the weather data come from?

From Open-Meteo, an open-source weather API that is free for non-commercial use and needs no key. The request is made by the viewer’s browser directly to api.open-meteo.com and contains only the coordinates — no cookies, no account, nothing passes through Toolity.

How often does it update?

Every 15 minutes while the widget is visible; the last forecast is cached in the viewer’s browser so the embed paints instantly on the next visit.

Why does it say “weather unavailable”?

The viewer is offline, a browser extension blocked the request, or Open-Meteo is briefly down. The widget shows the last cached forecast when it has one.

Does the embedded widget track visitors?

No. The /embed/ page loads no analytics or third-party scripts and runs entirely in the visitor's browser.
