How to Trim an Audio File in 3 Steps
Drop an audio file
Drag an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC onto the left pane. The waveform, a player and Start/End sliders appear.
Pick the range
Drag the sliders — the player jumps to each position so you can hear the exact spot — or pause the player where you want and press Playhead to set the start or end there.
Trim and download
Click Trim audio. The selection is cut with a 10 ms fade on each edge (so there is no click) and encoded to the format you chose.
Audio Trimmer — Frequently Asked Questions
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is decoded by your browser's Web Audio engine, processed on your device and encoded to MP3 or WAV with an open-source encoder running in the page. Nothing is sent to a server.
How precise is the cut?
The sliders move in 0.1-second steps and the cut itself is sample-accurate. For ringtones or loops, pause the player at the exact moment and press Playhead.
Why is there a fade on the edges?
Cutting a waveform mid-cycle leaves a step that plays as a click. A 10 ms fade removes it without being audible. Switch to Hard cut if you are splicing pieces that must butt together exactly.
Which formats can I open and save?
Open anything your browser plays: MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG, Opus, FLAC and WebM audio. Save as MP3 (128, 192 or 320 kbps) or lossless 16-bit WAV. Pick the format under Settings before you run the tool.
Does it lose quality?
Decoding to raw samples is lossless; the only loss is the final MP3 encode, and 192–320 kbps is transparent for most listeners. Choose WAV if you plan to edit the result again — re-encoding MP3 twice stacks artefacts.
