How It Works

Creating WhatsApp Click-to-Chat Links

1

Enter Phone Number

Provide your WhatsApp number including country code. Spaces, hyphens, brackets and plus signs are cleaned automatically.

2

Draft Pre-Filled Message

Optionally compose a greeting or inquiry. It is URL-encoded so it arrives intact on mobile and web.

3

Copy or Test Link

Copy the wa.me link, HTML button or Markdown — or Test Link to open it in a new tab. Tip: Esc resets the form.

FAQ

WhatsApp Link Creator — Frequently Asked Questions

Is my phone number or message stored anywhere?

No. The wa.me link is built in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing is sent to Toolity or any server.

What phone number format should I use?

Enter the full international number including country code, e.g. 919876543210 or +1 555 123 4567. Spaces, dashes, brackets, plus signs and a leading 00 are removed automatically because wa.me only accepts digits.

Does the link work on both mobile and desktop?

Yes. wa.me links open the WhatsApp app on phones and WhatsApp Web or the desktop app on computers. The pre-filled text appears in the chat box ready to send.

Can I create a link with only a message and no number?

Yes. Leave the phone field empty and WhatsApp will ask the user to pick a contact, then pre-fill your message. This is useful for share buttons.

Why are emojis and line breaks shown as %F0%9F… and %0A?

URLs must be percent-encoded. WhatsApp decodes the text back to normal characters, emojis and new lines when the chat opens.
