How to Play Typing Speed Test in 3 Steps
Pick a duration
Choose 15s, 30s or 60s in the toolbar. Optionally enable punctuation or numbers in Game options.
Start typing
The countdown begins on your very first keystroke. Green characters are correct, red are mistakes; press Space to commit each word and move on.
Read & copy your WPM
When time runs out, you get net WPM, raw WPM, accuracy and character counts. Press Copy to copy a one-line summary or Restart for a fresh passage.

Typing Speed Test — Frequently Asked Questions
How is WPM calculated?
Standard formula: one “word” equals 5 keystrokes. Net WPM counts only characters in correctly typed words ( plus correct characters in the word in progress ), divided by 5, divided by elapsed minutes. Raw WPM includes mistakes.
Can I backspace into a previous word?
Backspace works within the current word so you can fix typos before pressing Space. Once you press Space the word is locked, matching standard competitive typing tests.
Where do the words come from?
From a built-in list of the 200 most common English words, shuffled freshly for every test. Enabling punctuation or numbers mixes in realistic clauses and figures.
Does each duration keep its own personal best?
Yes. Your best net WPM is stored separately for 15s, 30s and 60s in your browser’s local storage.
Is anything uploaded or tracked while I play?
No. The game runs entirely in your browser tab. Your best score or win tally is saved only in your browser’s localStorage and cleared when you press Reset.
