Audio Equalizer — Frequently Asked Questions
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is decoded by your browser's Web Audio engine, processed on your device and encoded in the page. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I hear the EQ before applying it?
Yes. The source player runs through the same filters in real time, so every slider move is heard instantly — exactly what will be rendered.
What do the bands do?
31–125 Hz is sub-bass and kick, 250–500 Hz warmth (and mud), 1–4 kHz presence and vocals, 8–16 kHz air and sparkle. Each slider is a peaking filter of ±12 dB.
Why does my boosted track sound quieter?
Boosting can push peaks over 0 dB. With Prevent clipping on, the whole track is lowered just enough to avoid distortion. Cutting the frequencies you don't want often works better than boosting.
Which formats can I open and save?
Open anything your browser plays: MP3, WAV, M4A/AAC, OGG, Opus, FLAC and WebM audio. Save as MP3 (128, 192 or 320 kbps) or lossless 16-bit WAV — pick under Settings.
