How do I make it look less like a font?
Three things matter: jitter (40–70 % is the sweet spot), a hand that is a little irregular (Homemade Apple, Nothing You Could Do, Zeyada), and the scanner effect, which adds paper grain, a soft page shadow and a slight skew like a phone photo of a notebook. Blue ink on ruled paper with the text sitting on the lines completes it.
Can I use my own handwriting?
Yes — upload a .ttf or .otf font of your handwriting (free services like Calligraphr turn a scanned sample into a font). The file is loaded with the browser’s FontFace API and never leaves your device. It is not saved between visits.
Why are some characters boxes or in a different style?
Decorative handwriting fonts often cover only Latin letters. Characters outside the font (Devanagari, CJK, some symbols) fall back to a system font. Use the upload option with a font that covers your script.
What resolution are the downloads?
Pages render at 200 dpi (A4 = 1654 × 2339 px), which prints crisply. The PDF embeds those images at true A4 / Letter / A5 size using jsPDF, loaded only when you download a PDF.
Is there a length limit?
No fixed limit — a 50-page essay works, but each page is rendered as an image, so very long documents take a few seconds to export and the ZIP/PDF grows by roughly 300–500 KB per page.
Is my input sent anywhere?
No. Everything is computed by JavaScript in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored by Toolity.
