A quiet place to work: a focus timer, rain and fire you can mix, a three-item task list and a scene that slowly drifts — fullscreen, offline, shareable.

How to Use Ambient Focus Room in 3 Steps
Set the room
Pick a scene, slide a few sounds up — rain with a little fire is the classic — and type the one to three things you are working on. Press F for fullscreen and H to hide everything but the timer.
Focus
Choose 25, 50, 90 or your own minutes and press Start (or Space). The timer keeps exact time even in a background tab; a soft chime marks the end and the break starts on its own if you let it.
Keep the setup
Press Copy to copy a link with your scene, sounds and focus length — open it tomorrow or send it to a study partner. Today’s sessions are logged below the room.
Ambient Focus Room — Frequently Asked Questions
Where do the sounds come from?
They are synthesised live in your browser with the Web Audio API — filtered noise shaped into rain, wind, a crackling fire, a stream and a café murmur, plus true brown noise. No audio files are downloaded, so it works offline and there are no licences to worry about.
Does the timer keep running in a background tab?
Yes. It is based on timestamps, not tick counting, so when you come back the remaining time is exact. The chime plays even if the tab is in the background on desktop browsers; mobile browsers may delay it.
Can I use this as a “study with me” room with friends?
Share the setup link so everyone has the same scene, sounds and focus length. Sessions are not synchronised between people — it is a shared recipe, not a shared clock.
Why does my browser ask me to interact before sound plays?
Browsers block audio until you click or press a key on the page. Press Start or any slider once and the mixer wakes up.
Is my task list saved?
In your browser only (localStorage), together with today’s session count. Reset clears it. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Is my input sent anywhere?
No. Everything is computed by JavaScript in your browser tab. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored by Toolity.
